As of February 4th, 2025, the local assistance grants still have funding: - Community Block Grant: $81,557 to spend by July 31st (up to 20% of the purchase price of the home can be requested)
- Pathway Funds: approximately $41,250 remaining to help 6 more clients by June 30th ($6,875/per household)
FHLB funds for down payment assistance will be available on 2/24/2025. These funds can be “stacked” with one and/or possibly BOTH of our Garrett County grants (depends on income limits) to really assist a first-time homebuyer with the funds they need to get into their first home. This year’s funding limits have been raised as you can see below. In the past, this money does seem to get used up quickly, but normally gets funded multiple times throughout the year. 2025 Homeownership Program funding limits are as follows: - First Time Homebuyers: $17,500
- Community Partners (first responders, educators, health care workers, veterans and active duty military): $20,000
