Mission

The mission of the Garrett County Board of REALTORS® is to enhance our members’ ability to conduct business professionally, ethically and profitably and to promote the image of REALTORS® as knowledgeable practitioners essential to the real estate transaction. Through our educational and informational endeavors we foster career advancement, real estate best practices and enforcement of the Code of Ethics as set forth by the National Association of REALTORS®.

The Garrett County Board of REALTORS®, chartered in 1982, is a trade association representing more than 100 real estate professionals and one of the local boards of the National Association of REALTORS® and Maryland REALTORS®.

General Objectives:

  • To encourage the highest level of competency, integrity, and fair business practice.

  • To promote affordability and availability of housing and private property.
  • To support a regulatory, legislative and judicial environment equitable to business.
  • To provide programs, products and services to members.
  • To recognize and accommodate new and emerging forces in the real estate industry.
  • To increase public awareness and confidence in our members.

Garrett County and Oakland Deliver Local Tax Relief

Garrett County has adopted its Fiscal Year 2026 budget—and with it, the first Real Property Tax rate decrease in over a decade.
